How Your Vibration Affects Weight Loss (Part I)

Why does losing weight feel like a struggle?  Think about how many times we’ve
struggled to lose weight and go on diets, to the point that we’ve lost hope that we’ll
ever find a lasting solution. This process has confused me, and I’ve wondered what
the key is to successful, permanent weight loss. 

I joined Overeaters Anonymous and that helped me to realize it’s a spiritual solution.
I was able to maintain a weight loss for many years and still have.  However, I still want
to lose about 15 pounds and never achieved this in OA.  I refused to go on any more
diets, although I kept open to different food life styles, raw food, high protein, genotype
diet, and a combination thereof.  I know diets aren’t the answer. Then I found tapping,
and this also provides a piece of the solution.  But I have to be willing to tap. 
And if the idea of giving up certain foods scares me and it’s not safe enough, I won’t do it.

There have been times when I have lost weight because I thought I’d found THE right
answer for me, and I felt the emotion of hope and happiness.  After a while, I reverted
back to old behavior because negative emotions of deprivation creeped back in.  
I didn’t have lasting success because I hadn’t addressed a vital piece of the missing puzzle.
For example, I experimented with eating only protein for one month.  I lost weight partly
because I believed it would work.  Even though I felt positive about the idea of losing
weight, I felt emotionally deprived of various foods, like fruits, vegetables, etc. 

That is why this method, although effective short-term, would have never lasted for me. 
Over the years, I felt okay about being at my weight, and I rarely obsessed over it. 
But always lurking in the back of my mind was this nagging question, “Why can’t I release
these last 15 pounds?”  I figured it was vanity that made me want to lose more weight.

As I’ve continued to go inside for answers, I suspected that these last 15 pounds had little
to do with my eating or exercise habits.  They had more to do with my inability to let go of
control of life and just relax. After reading Esther and Jerry Hicks’ book,
The Astonishing Power of Emotions, my suspicions were confirmed. What I’ve learned is
that being successful with anything is all about our vibration.  The vibration is the missing
piece of the puzzle.  On page 61 of Hicks’ book, it says, “It is not your action that
matters; it is your vibration.  It is not your action that makes you fat; it is your vibration

It is not what you are doing that makes the difference; it is how you are feeling about
what you are doing.”  To be continued next week….
