How do you react to pain?

Angie Monko - Sunday, April 24, 2016

When people are authentic, does it make you
feel uncomfortable? Let's face it.  Authenticity can
appear "messy" and make us want to run from it.

Often times, other people's displays of honest,
emotional sensitivity, pain and suffering will trigger
discomfort in US.

For example, I feel uncomfortable when I see my
daughter, Maddie, in physical and/or emotional pain
brought about by her cystic fibrosis and her difficulty
in handling life on life's terms.

Why is this?  I think it's because we are uncomfortable
with OUR OWN PAIN.  If I am really honest with
myself, people outside of me always reflect a mirror
of what's going on inside of me.  Brutal truth, I know...

It's the rare person who doesn't resist negative emotion,
and so we do everything imaginable to avoid it, to not feel it.

What if we just stood still and reassured our self that it's
OK to feel the pain and stay calm, no need to panic?

I will always share my authentic feelings with you IF
I'm aware of them.  I have subconscious blocks like
everyone.  My path in life is to show up as authentically
as possible and hope this is of service for you to do the
the same, assuming you want that.

Come out on May 11th and share a couple of hours with
me.  I will share how we can begin to march to the beat of
our own drum and become a worthy advocate for our self.

It would be an honor to have you there.

Peace out,

Angie Monko
